Following the footsteps of the other great Japanese super car – Lexus LFA – the new Honda/Acura NSX will hit the race track long before the assembly line. Motorsport is the perfect way to hone and perfect a super car, especially one as advanced as the new NSX. The car is reportedly scheduled for GT racing in 2014, before the produciton version arrives in 2015.
Good news is, the racing NSX slated for competition will retain its hybrid powertrain, which consists of a a 3.5-liter V6 with two electric motors resulting in a high-powered all-wheel-drive car. In America, the hybrid Acura will be suitable for the new Grand Am GX division for non-traditional or experimental models set for launch next year. If Honda decides to race the car in Europe as well, a career in FIA GT series would be likely.
