Over the years there have been many weird and strange Smart Fortwo models, but this new one tops them all. With the Smart Fortwo For Jeremy – designed by fashion guru Jeremy Scott – they seem to have taken complete leave of their senses. They are going to launch this as a a limited special edition model in 2013.
It is daring, of course, in the same way that dressing in leather and dancing in public is daring for a supposedly straight man. There is no getting away from the fact that this car is the final nail in Smart Fortwo’s tiny gay coffin.
The main highlight of this car are obviously those huge wings, which are apparently Jeremy Scott’s signature dish, used on his sneakers, sunglasses, etc. It also features a chrome-plated tridion cell and rims deigned to look like aeroplane propellers. For the interior they’ve used white nappa leather for the instrument panel, seats and door trim, plus more shiny chrome.
The Forjeremy Smart is based on the Fortwo electric drive model, powered by a 55 kW electric motor. It does 0 to 100 km/h in an agonizing 11.5 seconds, and has a range of approximately 145 kilometres in city.
