As promised, Nissan and Usain Bolt auctioned off a one-off Gold GT-R online to raise money for the Usain Bolt Foundation. The car, along with some Bolt memorabilia raised a total of $193,191. The Bolt Gold GT-R also marks the start of a long term partnership between Usain and Nissan.

He is now Nissan’s director of excitement, and collaborates on making unique special editions and hotted-up models.

The Bolt Gold car features a golden paint job, plus a gold plate with Bolt’s signature. Other goodies auctioned with the car include racing helmets, fire-proof suits, driving boots and t-shirts. This car makes one man, and a lot of children, very happy.

All the proceeds will go to Bolt’s foundation which supports educational and cultural opportunities for children and young people in his home country of Jamaica.
