The new Peugeot 205 R5 rally car is the French car maker’s latest weapon to fight in the cruel world of motorsport, and, judging by this teaser video, they have big plans for it. The new R5, which recently completed its first shakedown, is the replacement for the 207 Super2000 car and will be eligible for the FIA R5 class, powered by 1.6 liter turbocharged engines.
All the evidence suggest the 208 R5 will be a formidable competitor when it hits the stage in 2013. Peugeot, after all, knows a thing or two about making successful rally cars. In this video they begin by boasting their glorious history in rallying, showing you the 205 Group B monster, and the 206 WRC world champion car. Peugeot has also enlisted rally legend Ari Vatanen to promote this car.
