If you are going to buy a Ferrari 458, you have to get the Spider version because it is just as brilliant to drive as the Coupe, and it gives you the joys of open-top motoring. Just about the only drawback with the Spider is the fact that it has a metal hood, which means the engine is not on display.

That is not going to be a problem anymore, thanks to Capristo.

The German tuner has come up with a solution that allows you to have your cake and eat it too. They’ve designed a new engine cover for the Spider with a glass part in the middle. You don’t get the full view of the engine like you do with the 458 Italia, but hey, it’s better than nothing.

Capristo’s ‘noble’ hood is a bit pricey at 9.800 Euro. But if you can afford a Ferrari 458 Spider in the first place, cost is not going to be a problem, is it.
