Texas Mile is the meeting point for some of the craziest cars in the country, coming down to try and go as fast as they can on the 1 mile runway. It is much more exciting than your run of the mill quarter mile because at the end of the standing mile even the most rubbish cars are doing over 130-40 mph. Needless to say, the more dangerous it is, the more fun it is.
At the recent Texas Mile event,, where a Hennessey-tuned Ford GT broke the record by doing 267.6 mph, Motor Trend’s Jessi Lang tagged along with John Hennessey and somehow convinced him to hand her the keys to a 750 horsepower 2013 Chevy Camaro ZL1.
It may not look like a big deal, but to drive at kind of speed in a tuner’s car you need some serious stones. Jessi’s got’em!
