This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed was very special for Alfa Romeo, as their brand-new 4C sports car make its dynamic debut at the famous hill climb course. The 4C Launch Edition in a cool liquid grey paint finish carried itself up the hill with the dignity of a baroness going for a leisurely afternoon walk!
That’s the thing about the 4C. It maybe a hard-core sports car with a lightweight body, a spartan interior, and a mid-engined layout like a racing car, but its artistic design, and of course the Alfa Romeo badge, put it in a class of its own. It doesn’t really have a direct rival. And don’t say Porsche Cayman. That car looks like a dog’s breakfast next to the Alfa.
The lightweight sports car is powered by a new direct-injection 240 HP 4-cylinder 1750 Turbo petrol engine, paired with the Alfa TCT twin dry clutch transmission. Sure, a manual would be more fun to use, but this ‘box gets the job done. The 4C also comes with a new version of Alfa’s DNA chassis setting system which is color-coded – yellow for Race, red for Dynamic, grey for Natural and blue for All Weather.
Beside the amazing 4C, Alfa also brought along a number of their most special classic models from the museum in Milan, including the 33 TT 12, the 8C 2900B Speciale tipo “Le Mans”, and a 1750 GT Am. Check them out in the picture gallery below:
