The obsession with style and fashion in modern Britain is kind of getting out of hand. We give you one example: Alfa Romeo, in an effort to promote themselves as a super stylish brand, hired artist Simon Claridge and asked him to create ‘Designer Parking Spaces’ in London’s Oxford Street shopping district.
That’s right, it’s a designer parking space. Obviously, you are not going to spend time in it – it is a parking space, after all – but knowing that you left your car in a stylish space should make you feel good. This makes you think what would be the next “designer” item? Hmm…
Alfa’s designer parking spaces in London are inspired by the Giulietta Collezione, and serve as an art installation, on display for a limited time. It is essetially an elaborate montage of Claridge’s signature portraits of male and female style icons from the past six decades, including Amy Winehouse, Kate Moss, Marylin Monroe, James Dean and David Bowie.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Collezione is on sale now and available in three signature Alfa colours; Solid Black, Alfa Red and Ghiaccio White. And that’s the inspiration behind the dark theme of the designer parking space. Main features of this model include dark tinted windows, darkened headlight surrounds, bright chrome door handles and titanium-finished side mirrors and 17-inch alloy wheels.
