RUSH is one of the greatest car/motorsport movies to be released this year. Directed by Ron Howard, it is a biographical action film that tells the story of Niki Lauda’s horrific crash at the Nurburgring in 1976, and his rivalry with James Hunt. Now, SRT racing team has managed to secure a deal to promote this special movie.
To this end, they have launched special sections for RUSH on their website and social media channels where you can view movie stills. But the real highlight of the efforts is the graphics from the film adorning the No. 91 RUSH SRT Viper GTS-R race car that competes in the GT Class of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS).
The RUSH Viper will appear wearing these graphics at the Aug. 31 Grand Prix of Baltimore Presented by SRT weekend and the Sept. 21 Circuit of the Americas race in Austin, Texas. That should create quite a buzz for the movie, which opens nationwide on Septeber 27.
“SRT owners and fans are genuine auto and racing enthusiasts,” said Beth Paretta, Director – SRT Brand and Motorsports Marketing and Operations, Chrysler Group LLC. “Every aspect of performance vehicles and motorsports is part of their DNA, and they’ll love the action and adrenaline of ‘Rush,’ the story of one of the greatest rivalries in Formula 1 racing history.”
