Giancarlo Fisichella Tests Alfa Romeo 4C

GF 4c test 600x335 at Giancarlo Fisichella Tests Alfa Romeo 4C

To promote the new 4C sports car, Alfa Romeo asked its sister company Ferrari to lend them their test driver, and former Formula One champ, Giancarlo Fisichella. They then shipped him to Balocco test track and let him loose with their finest creation in the past ten years.

In this video Giancarlo Fisichella tests Alfa Romeo 4C around the track and points out some of the features that make this little car such a joy to drive:

Fisi mentions the short wheelbase, the mechanical steering system that provides excellent feedback, and the spot on suspension setup of the 4C for a sporty and spirited drive. The cool soundtrack of the car’s 1,750 cc turbo four-banger is another plus point of this small but wonderful package.

Just about the only thing that is wrong with the Alfa 4C is its limited production numbers, which is going to affect the pricing, which is already quite high as it is. It might be an Alfa, and it might be a great driver’s car, but at the end of the day, the 4C is 240 horsepower coupe. The asking price of around $60,000 does seem a bit unreasonable. Then again, you can blame limited production of just 3,500 units a year worldwide.
