The first official pictures of the new 2014 Citroen C4 Cactus have leaked to the web, showing a production car that is more outlandish than most concept models. The production Cactus is virtually identical to its concept version, what with those distinctive Airbumps on the sides and the bumpers.
These styling features give the Cactus not only gives the car endless personalisation possibilities, they also act as a safety feature since they are basically air capsules that dampen impact. The trouble with bold features like this is, as cool as they look, they only appeal to a small group of buyers.
The Airbumps aside, Citroen C4 Cactus is a good crossover vehicle with large wheels and decent ground clearance. The car has an spacious and user-friendly interior design, featuring large touchscreen control units and premium materials.
The Citroen C4 Cactus featured a Hybrid Air drivetrain in the concept version; a system that combines compressed air and the hydraulics of a PureTech petrol engine. Not sure if the production model gets the same system, but we shall find out soon enough, as official details of the car are expected o be released soon.
