The stunning Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, a coachbuilt, hand-made version of the Alfa 8C with a bespoke aluminum body made by Touring, has been around for a few years, but not everybody knew about it. Now that the car has been featured on Top Gear though, it is starting to get the attention it always deserved.
And so Touring Superleggera, the Italian company that makes the Disco Volante, decided to bring a version of the car finished in an amazing green paint job with gold and red accents to the Geneva Motor Show to use that hype.
As you have learned from the Top Gear episode featuring the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, the car uses the same chassis and suspension as the 8C Competizione, and has a V8 engine it shared with Maserati. That is an enticing proposition, but it doesn’t matter, because the Disco is all about the looks. It could come with a four-banger, and you’d still want one.
Every Alfa Romeo Disco Volante is built to order and therefore bespoke to the owner, who has spent a staggering amount of money on it. So after its show debut, this British Green model too will be shipped to a wealthy corner of the world. So before that happens, let’s take a good look at it.
