MINI is bringing a revised version of its Countryman compact SUV to the New York Auto Show, featuring new styling details and upgraded specifications. The Austrian-built Countryman has been quite successful in the U.S., having sold over 62,000 units since the launch in 2010. MINI hopes the new updates will help maintaining that success.
Exterior mods on the 2015 MINI Countryman are somewhat limited, and include subtle changes such as a revised front grille, new LED lights, new wheel designs, and some cool new protective guards on all-wheel-drive models. You get new customization options though, including new colors: Jungle Green metallic and Midnight Grey metallic, and Starlight Blue metallic. Another customization option available for MINI for the first time is the new Piano Black Exterior.
The interior gets even less new stuff, featuring only a chrome-edged instrument, the latest MINI Connected infotainment, and improved soundproofing.
As for the technicalities, the 2015 MINI Countryman Cooper S gets a 190 horsepower 1.6 liter turbo engine and can be had with ALL4 all-wheel-drive system, while the 208 hp turbo John Cooper Works Countryman gets it as standard. All engines are combined with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. An optional 6-gear automatic transmission is available for all model variants.
