Because he is so incredibly good at his job as a motoring journalist, Chris Harris gets to drive all kinds of sports, super, luxury, hyper, and family cars day in and day out. So when it comes to buying a personal car, he looks for different qualities in an automobile than you and I do. That is how he ended up with this knackered Citroen 2CV.
Chris’ 2CV is an original car with the corrugated bonnet and a 427cc two-cylinder engine. It has a rebuilt chassis, so it is structurally sound. But the body and the interior are untouched, which is to say they are pretty shabby. That’s shabby chic, mind you.

It seems to us there is a craze going on in the world of motoring journalism for the Citroen 2CV. Another prominent figure in this business, Andrew Frankel, has also bought himself a 2CV, but his is a neatly restored one. In fact, it’s been restored on TV by Mike Brewer and Ed China from the Wheeler Dealers.
