It is pretty clear now that the replacement for the Mercedes SLS is not going to be called the SLC, but AMG GT. However, there are people who are very fond of that name. Car designer Evren Milano is one of them, and since Mercedes is not making an SLC, he went ahead and designed one for himself.

This is the Mercedes SLC Milano and it is what he thinks the baby SLS would look like. We quite like the proportions of the car and its compactness. The Rolls-Royce style scissor doors are also a nice touch. But we’re not sure about those headlights.

Headlights have always been a crucial part of Mercedes design. They sort of define the identity of the car. What Milano has come up with here is not only too weird, it has nothing to do with Mercedes’ current design philosophy. Mercedes SLC Milano is a flight of fancy, which is actually what renderings are all about.

The real Mercedes AMG GT has a more sober design featuring the same sort of round headlights you find on the SL. It has a sleek two-door coupe shape with a hint of SLS and normal door. If the rumors are to be relied upon, the GT will come with a brand-new 4.0 liter AMG V8.
