In one of the most tragic and bizarre accidents in the history of motorsport, famous NASCAR driver Tony Stewart hit and killed 20-year old driver Kevin Ward. The accident happened during a Spring Car race at Canandaigua Motorsports Park oval track.

The two drivers first came in contact racing side by side which caused Ward to spin and hit the wall. The angry young man then stormed out of the car trying to confront Stewart on the subsequent lap. Unfortunately, Stewards’ car hit Kevin and dragged him a few meters down the track.

Kevin Ward was quickly taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Tony Stewart said that words cannot describe the sadness he is feeling. As sad as this incident is, Tony shouldn’t be blamed for it, since it was Kevin who decided to walk along a track full of speeding race cars. May he rest in peace.
