Audi’s 4.0 liter V8 engine which they use in some of the RS and S models is a strange bit of kit. It is the smallest unit among high-powered V8s in the market today, and it has big turbos, which means it is built more for economy than power. But in reality it is a tower of power.
In the Audi S8 this engine packs, as standard, 520 horsepower, which is a lot. Now, ABT Sportline has come up with has come up with a kit for it that boosts that output to a colossal 675 horsepower. That’s the thing about Audi’s high-performance engines. Give it to the right man and they extract a million horsepower from it.
The main ingredients of ABT’s Audi S8 power kit are software and exhaust system; two simple upgrades that unlock a whole new level of performance. If 675 is too much for you, ABT also does weaker version. You can get a less powerful version with, say, 640, but that won’t be as fun as the full-fat version!
The engine treatment in ABT Audi S8 is complemented with sports mufflers, ABT level control suspension system, and a set of ER-C or DR wheels in 9.5 x 20 or 9.0 x 21 inches with sports tires in sizes 275/35 R20 or 275/35 R21.
