The number of Spyker C8s in existence, which is not a very big number to begin with, may have just been reduced by one. This exquisite Spyker C8 was nearly totaled in an accident in Riga, Latvia, after hitting a lamp post.
As you can clearly see in the pictures, the car must have been traveling quite fast for the lamp post to do so much damage to it. What’s more, the road was wet at the time and that has probably contributed to the crash in no small part.
Spyker C8 is a decade old design and belongs to an era where electronic safety systems were not really top priority for the car maker. The “Spyder” super car is powered by an Audi 4.2 liter V8 engine in its base model with 400 horsepower. That may not sound like much by today’s standards, but the C8 is incredibly light and that makes it pretty quick.
The best thing about the Spyker, though, is the way it looks inside and out. Well, not this one, obviously. This C8 has suffered from substantial damage to pretty much every single panel, as well as wheels and suspension system and probably bits of the engine. The repair bill will be pretty huge – hundreds of thousands of Euros.
