The new and super hot Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is now available to order in the UK for a base price of £59,500. This is a limited edition model which means it will sell out quickly and then you will have to pay a lot more to buy it from the dealers. So if you want one, chop chop!

Alfa Romeo 4C Spider follows the same lightweight recipe as its Coupe sibling. Just like that car, the Spider is not perfect. In fact it is fairly flawed as a car – it’s impractical and unnecessarily wide, and it has a rubbish interior. But then again, the 4C is not a normal car. It is a purebred sports car designed to appeal to your heart, not your brain. And it is brilliant at that.

This little sports car boasts some pretty high-end features such as an ultra-lightweight carbon fibre monocoque, a new aluminium rollover structure, carbon fibre windscreen frame and an engine compartment cross-member made from high-strength steel. Also exclusive to the Spider is a distinctive Spider buttresses and a new engine cover which also features three heat extractors and a subtle rear spoiler. The headlights are different as well too, but you can order those for the Coupe if you want.

Mechanically, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is the same as the hardtop, featuring a 1,750 cc turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 240hp and 258lb.-ft. of torque, which is enough for a 0 to 60 time of 4.5 seconds. The Spider does however come as standard with Alfa Hi Fi sound system and optional premium leather with accent stitching and matching door cards. So its cabin is a bit less spartan than that of the Coupe.
