Maserati Levante ann 0 600x400 at Maserati Levante SUV Officially Announced

After what feels like a decade, Maserati is finally ready to unveil their highly anticipated luxury SUV. It’s called Maserati Levante – which is a lot better Kubang, their first choice – and it will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Detailed specs of Maserati Levante are yet to be released, but the car benefits from Maser’s experiences in recent years with diesel engines, turbocharging, and four-wheel-drive drivetrains.  As such, “Q4” intelligent all-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission will be standard across the range, and you also get electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs and a range of powerful diesel and petrol engines.

As for the design, at first glance Maserati Levante may look like a fat Ghibli, but there is art in all those curves and twists as you would expect from an Italian luxury car. The main highlights include tapered headlights, unique front grille, three iconic air vents on the front wings, trapezoidal C-pillar with the “Saetta” logo and large, frameless door windows. Our favorite part is the bonnet which looks like stretched fabric.

It will probably take Maserati another year or so to prepare the Levante for market launch. But if I were a Porsche Cayenne, I’d start worrying right about now.
