It’s baffling why most of Monaco’s supercar owners prefer to drive in circles around the center of the town while they have such magnificent mountain roads just outside the city. In this footage you see a gorgeous Alfa Romeo 8C Spider go from Cap d’Ail to La Turbie in what can only be described as one of the most scenic roads in the world.
And there’s the answer to the question we posed above. The elite Monégasque who have tasteful cars like the Alfa 8C Spider do spend most of their time out in the hills. It’s mostly the Russians and Arabs populating the city with their vulgar, chrome-wrapped, straight-piped super cars.
And in case you have forgotten about the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, it’s a drop-top version of the 8C Competizione which is a car not very nice to drive, badly made, and rather uncomfortable. But none of those niggles really matter, because the 8C is one of the all-time most charming, sexiest, most desirable cars ever made. The car’s got a 450 horsepower V8, but we would still fancied it even if it had like a two-cylinder motor out of a Fiat 500.
