Brabus’ huge obsession with horsepower is getting really dangerous!  Along with the GLK V12 which is the fastest SUV in the world, at 2009 Dubai Motor Show they revealed the GL 63 BiTurbo, based on the seven-seater Mercedes GL which is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers, developing 650hp and 850 Nm of torque!

This powerplant is based on the V8 AMG uses in the ML63, but that only has 520hp. I Barabus workshop they fits it with a twin turbo system, special cast exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings and bypass valves, a big water-to-air intercooler as well as a dual intake manifold with cast-in BRABUS Biturbo logos and sport air filters, BRABUS forged pistons, and modified engine electronics . It is also equipped with high-performance catalysts.

Using a modified version of Merc’s SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission, this four-wheel-drive luxury SUV delivers staggering performance. Zero to 100 km/h takes just 4.7 seconds, but the top speed is limited, to 300 km/h!!!

Brabus GL63 also comes with the WIDESTAR bodykit which adds six centimeters (2.4 inches) to its width than the standard car and features revised bumpers with big air intakes and LED lights at front and a diffuser at the rear, side steps, BRABUS rocker panels and a roof spoiler. The tuner also offers three-piece BRABUS Monoblock E PLATINUM EDITION 11Jx23 wheels with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA high-performance tires up to size 305/30 R 23.

Apart form the amazing engine and the body kit, the Brabus GL63 comes with a unique interior. It is equipped like a business-class airliner!  Special consoles for the backs of the front seats each have an integrated seven-inch LCD screen, a DVD player and a folding table. They transform the rear passenger compartment into a multimedia studio. The entertainment equipment can be further expanded into a fully functional office on wheels with state-of-the-art communication and computer technology. Brabus uses a combination of especially soft and breathable Mastik leather and Alcantara for the upholstery and offers carbon fiber triming for the dashboard and panels.

As for the price, brace yourself, it’s 368,000 Euros! And the funny thing is that despite the bodykit and stuff, it still looks like a 100grand car down on the streets! Only monumental car nuts will realize it’s a Brabus. You have to be clinically mad to buy this car!
