Following a successful 2009 season, Aston Martin Works LMP1 is preparing for the new year as the company announces its plans for 24 Hours of Le Mans, European Le Mans Series and American Le Mans Series. The most important task for this Aston is indeed the Le Mans 24Hrs, but the car also stands a good chance for other races it’s going to attend.

In the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) Aston LMP1 will only race at Paul Ricard circuit for the opening round of the season. As for its American mission it is set for the 12 hours of Sebring and Long Beach Gran Prix. Two Aston Martin Works LMP1 will be dressed in the legendary blue and orange Gulf livery.

As for the drivers, Chris Buncombe (GB), Stefan Mücke (DE), Harold Primat (CH) and Darren Turner (GB) return for the 2010 season and will be joined by experienced sports car driver Adrian Fernández (MX).

“Having won the Le Mans Series Team and Driver titles in 2009 it will be a hard act to follow,” said Aston Martin Racing Team Principal, George Howard-Chappell. “However, we are looking forward to a great season of racing and we hope to have another strong showing at Le Mans. I’d like to welcome Adrian to the team, I’m sure with his experience he will be a great addition to our driver line-up.”
