As we have reported before, at 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon Nissan will present a number of special models based on the current range, including this cool Nissan LEAF equipped with a heavy sporty body kit. Now we want to take a closer look at this car, and indeed some other models to be revealed at the Tokyo show.

Nissan LEAF EV is amongst the first production electric cars to be mass produced and marketed around the world. Technically it’s a brilliant EV with a car-like design with no extra fuss or fancy stuff, room for five people and conventional features. It also has a zero-emission powertrain which gives good range and reasonable charging time. But to all intents and purposes, it is not a looker!

That’s why Nissan came up with this Aero Style body kit, consisting of new bumpers, buffed up fenders and extended sills, as well as new design wheels to give it a sportier profile. And you have to say it does enhance the looks of the car while retaining its character as an EV.

It is just a concept study model, but it might as well result in similar aftermarket kits for the LEAF.
