Kia Motors revealed the first pictures and details of new Sorento which has received a mild mid-life update. In addition to a facelift, the Sorento gets a revised bodyshell, upgraded chassis, enhanced powertrains for best-in-class fuel economy with lower emissions, improved ride and comfort, and new safety and convenience features. It is now closer than ever to its sister, Hyundai Santa Fe.

Visual changes include  new headlamps with LED positioning lights, a new tailgate with LED rear combination lamps, new bumpers (front and rear) with vertical-axis fog lights and a larger area of body-color surface for a more premium look. New styling cues are right on the line with other new Kia models. They also offers new range of 19-inch wheels.

Inside the cabin – which can be configured as a five- or seven-seater – you get more soft touch materials, a new LCD instrument cluster, new center stack with 7-inch display screen, and a new console featuring a straight-gate selector with a leather-booted lever on automatic transmission models. They are all supposed to give the Sorento a more luxurious look and feel.

Depending on the model, you can also get a larger panoramic sunroof with no centre cross beam and a powered blind. Details of the upgraded powertrains will be revealed later.
