Once again the Volvo-Polestar partnership results in a fabulous concept car. But just like the C30, this new one which is a very hot S60 will almost certainly remain a concept forever and will never see production. That’s a shame, because what you’re looking at here is a 508 horsepower lightning blue M3 killer. It does 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h.

Polestar somehow managed to squeeze 508 hp and 575 Nm out of the S60’s T6 inline six engine. They’ve changed an awful lot of its components though, from the cylinder head and combustion chambers, to inlet manifold and air intake, and the conrods. They have also fitted it with Garret 3171 turbo and Ferrita 3.5” stainless steel exhaust system.

The power is transmitted to the ground via a rear LSD differential with Haldex Gen4 XWD, and a six-speed manual gearbox, reinforced to cope with the extra power.

What’s more the ride height is lowered by 30mm, anti rollbars are reinforced, Öhlins 3- way shock absorbers are used and Polestar 19-inch wheels are installed. Furthermore, Track width increased 20 mm front and 40mm rear, and the steering system is tweaked. They have not left anything untouched. Not to mention the brakes are replaced with Brembo units.

Visually, the car looks pretty much the same as the standard S60, but there is a subtle body kit with new front and rear bumpers, front and rear fender extension, front splitter and rear diffuser, both made from carbon fiber.

Inside the cabin you get Polestar designed seats with increased support. Alcantara on all functional areas steering wheel, gear knob, and seats to ensure maximum grip. The console is lowered too so the gear lever could have a more ergonomic position.
