Traditionally, before a new BMW M model comes around Alpina releases their take on that specific model. So here’s the new Alpina B3, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show a few months before the new BMW M3 arrives. And it’s so good you may not want to hold on for the M car.

The Alpina is powered by the a twin-turbo in-line six-cylinder engine, the same unit that will almost certainly be used in the M3 as well. In the Alpina it makes 410 horsepower, so you can tell the M3 will have around 430-40 horsepower.

The B3 also gets a new 8-speed automatic transmission to deliver its 600Nm of torque to the rear wheels in the most efficient way. Performance-wise, you are looking at a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds, and an astonishing top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph). You can also order this car with xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Alpina B3 also features a discreet, understated, and maybe even slightly boring aero kit with subtle front and rear spoiler, sides skirts and rear diffuser, as well as Alpina 20-inch wheels.
