The looks of the new Maserati Quattroporte may be a bit controversial, but there is no doubt about the purity of this car’s blood. This luxury saloon is a full-on supercar at heart, and the explosive soundtrack of its Ferrari-developed V8 engine is a clear sign of that. In fact, it sounds a bit too nasty for a luxury four-door saloon. That might put a question mark above the QP’s refinement and comfort in long journeys.

The 2014 Maserati Quattroporte can be had with either a twin-turbo 3.0 liter V6 or a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 (the one featured in the video). It makes 530 horsepower, and 649 Nm of torque – 710 with an overboost function – and takes the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Top speed is 307 km/h (191 mph). Prices for the V8 model starts at 146,000 Euro.
