The guys from Vossen Wheels are on a roll these days, releasing one awesome project after another. After treating us to this unique Mustang and this tricked-out BMW 650, they are now presenting the Vossen Wheels BMW i8 duo in black and white, and with white and red wheels respectively.

Granted, red wheels on a dignified car like the i8 is not what you can call classy. But then again, the futuristic looks of the Bimmer are hardly understated. So you might as well go all the way and make it as showy as possible. Or you can go the opposite way and opt for that black version which looks really handsome with those silvery white rims.

Both Vossen Wheels BMW i8 models are fitted with 22×9? and 22×10.5? wheels front and rear, shod with Pirelli 245-30-22 and 285-25-22 tires respectively. Design-wise though, the red wheels are the VPS-304 models whereas the less showy white rims are VPS-301. Both cars also benefit from a complete set of H&R springs which is the main reason they look so good inside the i8’s fenders.

BMW i8, just to recap, is powered by a three-cylinder turbo engine boosted by a couple of electric motors. It develops a combined system output of 360 horsepower and theoretically it should be able to do 90 mpg. In the real world though, you are more likely to get 30 to 35.
