There is something akin to sibling rivalry going on between GM’s brands, especially Chevrolet and GMC, and particularly regarding pickup truck production. Every time Chevy puts out a special edition, a few days later GMC comes up with one. So after the Silverado Realtree, we get this, the 2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X.

As you would expect hearing that super cool name, GMC Sierra All Terrain X is a highly capable off-road-ready truck featuring a range of features that gives it an edge over the standard models in dealing with rough Terrain. On sale from Spring 2016, the truck is based on 2016 Sierra 1500 4WD crew cab/short box models with SLT trim.

In terms of appliance, GMC Sierra All Terrain X is set apart from regular models with elements such as unique grille with body-color surround and tinted chrome accents, body-color front and rear bumpers, spray-on bedliner, and All-Terrain-logo instrument cluster. Equipment-wise, the truck comes with Inclinometer in the driver information center, Rear Park Assist, and 4WD with Eaton locking rear differential.

Of course, you also get with the X the Z71 Off-Road suspension package with Rancho monotube shocks, high-capacity air cleaner, Hill Descent Control and underbody transfer case shield. Other highlights include Mud-Terrain-rated Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac MT tires, 18 x 8.5-inch black aluminum wheels, performance exhaust system for the 365 horsepower V8 engine, and black exterior trim.
