Flexing that unique muscle of theirs that builds weird but wonderful things, Mercedes-Benz specialist Carlsson has now come up with a treatment for the S-Cabriolet. Special colors, new rims, and a redesigned interior are among the main features of Carlsson Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet, which is dubbed Diospyros.

Derived from the scientific name for West African ebony, Diospyros Crassiflora, the pompous name is given to Carlsson Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet on account of the awesome, ultra-fine wood trims used throughout the cabin. It even gets a wooden rear deck for the convertible top in the style of Rolls-Royce. These bits are them complemented with “Vintage Cognac” nappa leather mixed with lighter colored elements for that sweet contrast that catches the eye.

The interior design is amazing, but in terms of exclusivity it has nothing to say compared with the exterior. Here the tuner hasn’t added any aero parts, only a few layers of “Carlsson Heritage Green” paint and voila, you got yourself a super exclusive ride. We should also mention the grille and the 1/12 EVO wheels which give Carlsson Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet Diospyros its touch of vintage goodness. That said, this look is definitely not to everyone’s taste.

This particular Diospyros is based on the S500 Cabriolet to which Carlsson has added about 12 percent more power to around 550 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Depending on the model and you options you choose, the Diospyros can cost between 214,000 Euro without VAT to around 336,000 Euro.
