For the new year Mini is offering new variants of the Cooper as well as new and upgraded engines, plus new options and customization packages. There’s an all-new 1.6 liter engine which replaces the 1.4, and will be offered in different versions with all cars in the range including First, One, Cooper and Cooper S , Hatch, Convertible and Clubman.
With a 75 hp version of the 1.6 engine, the Mini First as the entry-level model offers really good fuel economy with decent performance. It averages 52.3 mpg while emitting 127 g/km of Co2, and has a top speed of 109 mph. Then there’s the Mini One series, which comes with 98 hp and 153 nm of torque, with the same economical and ecological numbers as the First. But it’s faster with a top speed of 116 mph. This powertrain is also used in the Clubman variant, where it averages 51 mpg while enabling the car to go as fast as 115 mph.
In 2010 Mini also offers an updated version of the Cabrio which in the basic model has a 98 hp 1.6 engine and a top speed of 112 mph. The Cooper S Cabrio however is fitted with a 184 horsepower engine with 215 nm of torque. The same powertrain is also offered in the Cooper S hatchback resulting in o to 60 acceleration time of 7 seconds and top speed of 142 mph. Impressive!
Also as a special model, they offer the Mini Cooper S Rainbow edition in the UK featuring a unique color and a 122horsepower engine which has 163 nm of torque, top speed of 127 mph and average fuel consumption of 52 mpg.
