Apparently Porsche has a firmer grasp on being green than other manufacturers, because not only they are developing green cars, racing cars even, but also they have announced plans for turning their buildings and plants more green and environmentally friendly! They are making a 40,000-square-meter area on the roof top of their central spare parts warehouse in Sachsenheim for installing 8,500 photovoltaic modules.

These solar roof provided by Goldbeck Solar GmbH will generate about two million kilowatt hours per year which is enough for approximately 500 four-person households, or in other words enough to light up a small city!

How does that help the environment you might ask?! Well, it saves a whopping 1,780 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) every year!
