Carlsson is apparently the first tuner to come up with a package for the new generation 2011 Mercedes CLS. Before this Lorinser released some sketches but that doesn’t count because when they were released way ahead of car’s official debut! First or second, Carlsson’s package is nicely done and looks great.

Carlsson 2011 Mercedes CLS is set to be released on January 29th, and features a discrete body kit consisting of RS front spoiler lip, power domes for the bonnet and the mudguard inserts, plus stainless steel grille inserts, side mouldings with built-in air inlets, rear apron with built-in diffuser and boot spoiler as well as stainless steel rear silencer and the two oval tailpipes so typical of Carlsson.

There’s also an interior package including Alcantara sports steering wheel, pedals and foot rest made of brushed aluminium, velours foot mats featuring the Carlsson logo and the matching boot mat.

Both the CLS petrol and diesel engine models benefit from the improved performance provided by Carlsson. With their CK35 performance kit, the CLS 350 CGI goes up from its standard 306 hp (225 kW) to 333 hp (245 kW) while increasing the vehicle’s maximum torque from 370 to 410 Newton metres. This enables the direct-injection engine to go from 0 to 100 kph in 5.9 seconds, compared with 6.1 seconds for the standard model. The CLS 350 CDI now manages 320 hp (235 kW) while maximum torque has increased from 650 to 780 Newton metres. This allows the vehicle to go from 0 to 100 kph in 5.9 seconds.

Both units still cover Euro5 standards.

Carlsson also offers a range of 1/10 wheel, available in three colours and in a combination of five simple and five double spokes. They are available in 19 and 20-inch size. They are complemented by the tuner’s C-Tronic SUSPENSION installed on the CLS’ sir suspension system This intelligent suspension lowering system lowers the vehicle by up to 30 millimetres and continuously monitors the situation on the road and adjust the ride if necessary.
