Mercedes tuner Carlsson revealed an improved version of their C25 supercar at the Geneva Motor Show which is even more exclusive than the first iteration of the car.
The problem with the C25 is that it is basically a half a million euro Mercedes SL65 with a bit more power and an unfathomable ugly face! With that money you can buy much better – real – supercars. It is one of the most pointless cars we’ve ever seen. That said, they will have no problem finding buyers for the 25 units of this car they’ve planned to build, because people like exclusivity.
One of the good things about the C25 is the engine. It is based on the V12 biturbo of the SL65 tuned to deliver 753 horsepower (554 kW) and 1320 Nm of maximum torque which had to be limited to 1150 Nm or the gearbox would explode!
The C25 is 180 kg lighter than the SL65 so it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 352 km/h.
Markus Schuster, Managing Director at Carlsson: “There are more than enough super cars around that can only be driven safely on a racing track. We deliberately wanted to develop a car that is exclusive on the one hand but can still be used for the daily commute to the office. A Super GT which can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds while at the same time offering the utmost in ride comfort.”
