Kia Rio Sedan To Debut In New York

Kia is apparently following footsteps of Mazda in introducing a sedan version of their premium hatchback, the new Rio. Sources at New York Auto Show report that Kia officials have confirmed the car will be unveiled at the show.

The idea of a Rio sedan sounds interesting because there are a lot of people who would appreciate a proper boot in their car which can make life much easier. Peugeot has also done the same to its 206 and 308 models, but they were all for small markets in Asia and Eastern Europe. The Rio sedan however will be a global product and will even be offered in the U.S.

Still not sure about the looks of the car, but it’s not hard to guess, is it! It’s not likely that they change the front-end of the car, it will only get a new rear compartment. It will also get the same engine line-up which in America includes a 138 hp 1.6 petrol unit.

We will find out more about this car very soon.
