Celebrating the 70th anniversary of Maserati 8CTF’s Indianapolis victory, Maserati teamed up with Monante Cicli, a Sicilian-based prestigious bicycle brand, to present the limited edition Montante for Maserati 8CTF.
This luxe and exquisite bike is limited to 200 individually numbered units, each priced at a whopping £3,204 (3600 Euros). The 8CTF model, a single speed bicycle, comes from one of Montante’s original designs which made it one of the leading industries in the field. It is made-to-measure to fit the rider perfectly.
The bicycle itself is not interesting, because bicycles are generally boring, but the details of this thing are so amazing. It comes with a silver Trident on a grey background on the hubs inspired by the Maserati’s supercharged three-litre engine; the Maserati logo in a Thirties’ style on the frame reprises the metallic plate identifying the car’s chassis; the enamelled oval is a faithful reproduction of the one on the car’s bonnet.
Maserati 8CTF won the American race twice in a row with Wilbur Shaw at the wheel. The number 1 on the bike is the same as the one featured on Shaw’s car.
