Video: Allan McNish Survives Massive Crash At Le Mans

Allan McNish, the Flying Scotsman! He was the star of a spectacular crash at the first hour of 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours race, in which he totally destroyed an Audi R18, limiting the chance of the team in winning their 10th Le Mans. The accident began with the Audi hitting a Ferrari while taking it in the inside of a tight bend. That sent both cars into a huge spin. The Audi then catapulted to the side barriers, went airborne and flipped a couple of times before resting on its roof. Meanwhile the spectators behind the barriers get showered by a ton of R18’s debris. If you look in the video one of the wheels actually chases a photographer and wouldn’t let go!

Fortunately, McNish walked away unharmed. Kudos to Audi Engineers for the car’s safety.
