Volvo Concept You, as one of the least teased cars before the show, unveiled at the IAA.
The You is the new version of the Concept Universe, featuring a similar design which is Volvo’s new look. It combines a sleek coupé-like exterior with a luxurious high-tech interior that keeps the driver in command via intuitive smart pad technology.
Concept You is the base for an upcoming luxury sedan by Volvo, even though company’s officials have denied it a number of times!
The reason they call this car ‘You’ is to reflect on Volvo’s new, customer focused “Designed Around You” strategy:
- It is a large, luxurious sedan with a new, sculpted Scandinavian form language that also honours the sweeping, elegant lines of classic Volvo models.
- The inspiration from – and cooperation with – a number of world famous brands demonstrates the level of exquisite craftsmanship customers can expect from future Volvo models.
- The concept car reveals how Volvo’s new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) opens up dynamic design possibilities – on top of the technological and industrial advantages.
- By bringing the latest intuitive smart pad technology into the car, Volvo Car Corporation emphasises its ambition to lead the development of super-functional connectivity features in cars.
The car comes with a number of very amazing new features, such as Touch-control cockpit and pure craftsmanship, Unique air-powered sound system, Leather, suede and suit fabric cabin, Hand-tufted wool carpets and so on.
Unique design features include 21-inch polished aluminium wheels with a twisted twin-spoke design and tyres from Pirelli (275/30/21), the Concept You grille – which has a more classic appearance than the Concept Universe – features details with the same beautifully polished craftsmanship., and fastback styling on the whole which gives it a special look, unlike other luxury cars in the market which all have a a boring sedan form.
“Concept You gives a good indication of what you can expect from our next large sedan. The blend of contemporary Scandinavian design, exquisite craftsmanship and intuitive technology will appeal to luxury car buyers all over the world,” says Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volvo Car Corporation.
