Mercedes only offers the GL SUV with V6 and V8 engines. But what if you want it with a V12? Well, you should ask MKB to make you one.
MKB P 670 based on Mercedes GL500 is powered by V12 twin turbo engine that it’s tuned to churn out 668 HP and 1200 Nm of torque. This super SUV is now capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 270 km/h.
To cope with the extra power and speed, MKB has tuned 4-Matic-drivetrain, the automatic gearbox, the electronic control systems, and fitted the GL with 380 mm ceramic discs and 6 and 4 piston brake callipers.
This is a fantastic package, but the asking price is dear. It is 217.568 EURO excluding VAT, and excluding the donor GL500! The conversion also takes up to six month. So, let’s get it straight… more than 300,000 euro is going to sleep for six month, and for that you get a big fast Merc that no one can tell apart from the 50 grand diesel version. WOW!
MKB also provides upgrade kits for other engines in the range:
MKB RD6 for the 350 CDI reach up to 286 hp, the MKB RD 8 for the 450 CDI achieve 360 hp and even 850 Nm torque. Sporty drivers get with powerful gasoline V8 in the GL 500 the MKB 50/8 and 430 hp and 550 Nm which are really good fun to drive.
