It’s Chris’s turn to take the wheel of the 2013 Mercedes SL and gives us his verdict on the latest version of this motoring icon. He likes to start with a bit of history though. You see, to really appreciate what the SL is all about you can’t just hop in and go for a drive. This car comes from a royal family with a glorious pedigree, beginning with the 300SL, continuing kings like the Pagoda, and oh yea, the one Bobby Ewing made famous.

2013 Mercedes SL500 is powered by a 320 kW (435 hp) which is 20 percent more powerful than the old one. Thanks to lightweight aluminum body of the new model, the 500 goes from 0 to 60mph in under 5 seconds. It kinda renders the SL63 AMG pointless.
