italy earthquake at Earthquake Stops Production at Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini

Northern Italy is where all the super car makers are located. Modena and Bologna host factories for Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Ducati, among others. Unfortunately, that was the exact region hit by the second earthquake in the last 10 days. The 5.8-magnitude quake rocked Medolla, near Modena, as well as Cavezzo and Bologna, plus parts of Florence, Venice, and the extremely beautiful region of Genoa.

The quake left 15 people dead and many others missing or injured. It also destroyed many buildings, but none of the car making facilities were damaged, except apparently Ducati’s factory in Bologna. Still, car makers have halted production until further notice and sent their 5,000 workers and employees to join their families. These earthquakes are said to be the worst to hit Italy since 1300s.

Production is expected to resume shortly, once the inspectors are done checking the facilities.
