Racing One’s tuning package for the Audi R8 V10 is not designed to make the car look cooler. It is designed to turn the comfy supercar into a full-blooded track car. So the first order of business was to boost the output of the engine. Thanks to some new mapping, and a set of Akrapovic exhausts, the power’s gone up from 525 hp to 610. Then they got busy with the chassis.

This part of the project was crucial. The R8 has the power, but with a track-focused machine it’s the way the car delivers its power that matters. So the Audi is fitted with 2-way MDS dampers from Bilstein Motorsport and Performance Friction Brakes. They’ve also devised a way for better cooling, which is essential to keep the brakes working in an endurance race.

Other changes include bucket seats with 6-point belts, braces in the interior and a fire extinguisher. The wrapping has been done by Cam Shaft. We can’t say we dig it very much.

Total cost of the conversion was 26 000 euro. But the car’s now ready for different racing events such as Nurburgring VLN series. Such an awesome toy.
