Well, It didn’t take too long for somebody to decide the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500 needs more…ermm…power! Lethal Performance, a specialist in turning SVT cars into atomic bombs, has come up with this kit for the 2013 GT500 that gives it 760 rwhp. To be exact it makes 763 rear-wheel-horsepower. You measure it at the flywheel, you arrive at a much fatter number.

They apparently dyno’ed the GT500 and arrived at 590 rwhp. A very respectable number by anyone’s standard. But obviously they thought they can do better. The thing is, Shelby GT500’s engine is already tuned by Ford to the edge of destruction. Lethal guys couldn’t get much more out of it with ordinary tricks. So they broke out the big guns: Nitrous!

A capsule full of N2O, and NOS controller, and a set of straight pipes for the exhausts is all it takes to increase the ‘at the wheel‘ horsepower of the GT by 170. The car now makes 763.9 rear wheel horsepower and 859.9ft-lbof torque. It is verified on the dyno.

Now, some might argue that using Nitrous is cheating and it doesn’t count as a real tuning job. But hey, it’s got the power. The tuner was so proud of their creation they quickly went to the drag strip and put it up against a tricked-out Camaro ZL1:
