Maserati’s social efforts usually begin and end in teaming up with fashion brands and super models. This time though they did something that actually benefits society. Maserati sponsored the Spanish round of “The Duke of Edinburgh Cup” charity golf tournament to raise money for the children in need. This, we thought, is something worth mentioning.

The tournament, organised in 10 countries, is aimed at raising funds for the “International Golf Charity ltd”, a charity sponsored by HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, which funds partnerships focused on helping children and youth insinuations of need. The winners will also partake in a friendly tournament at the Royal Household of Windsor Castle, at the express invitationof Her Majesty the Queen of England. The event will end with a gala dinner at Windsor Castle itself inthe presence of HRH Prince Edward the Earl of Wessex.

The Spanish event raised €21,000 for the Foundation. Participants also had the chance to drive the new GranTurismo Sport, a 460 hp and 520 Nm super GT by Maserati which is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

So kudos to Maserati for this. Keep up the good work.
