A Couple of spyshots taken inside a workshop revealed Oakley Design’s plans to make its own version of Lamborghini Aventador Roadster. Well, it’s not a full-blooded roadster. As the pictures suggest it’s a removable top affair, and it is still in the first stages of development, hence all the gaffer tape around the roof.
A removable top like this has a number of advantages over a folding job. It doesn’t necessarily add any extra weight, and it’s far less complicated engineering-wise. That of course doesn’t mean Oakley just chops off the roof and there you go. Removing the roof will have a huge impact on the car’s balance and handling. So a lot of structural work is needed to stop the car fall to pieces. That is why you are better off waiting for Lambo’s own drop-top Aventador to arrive!
