250,000 miles is a lot for any type of car, especially a Lamborghini. Granted, it’s a 4000 GT 2+2, and it belongs to 1967, but still, that is an astonishing number. And not just because it’s an exotic Italian car and all, but also because how it’s done all that miles and is still in one piece. Being an old Italian super car you would expect it to be reduced to its components after five years or 50,000 miles. It’s a kind of Italian warranty you get!
The reason this car is still in one piece, as the its owner Jack Riddell explains in his chat with Jay Leno, is because he has rebuilt the engine five times so far. He’s done it so many times that he could right a book about it, so other 4000 GT owners can download and use it. It’s the same story with other parts of the car.
Although it sounds more like torture to us, living with a car that needs a complete rebuild every 1000 miles or so, but we salute Jack Riddell for sticking with his favorite car and going through all this pain.
