NISSAN TeRRA at Nissan TeRRA at Paris Motor Show

When we first laid eyes on the Nissan TeRRA Concept, we ignored it, mainly because it is too ugly and also because it is too conceptual. Now it seems we have learn to like it, because we hear this car will the bases on which the next Murano will be built. Now, Nissan Murano is quite an important car and we do hope it will not inherit the TeRRa’s design cues.

Some other reports suggest Nissan is going to turn the TeRRA into a new xTerra, a SUV that back in the day was among the finest in its class. Whatever they are going to do with it, they need to alter those looks.

The TeRRA is a fuel cell electric vehicle in its concept form. It is likely that the production version, and other Nissan SUVs as well, get a similar system in near future, because as we know Hyundai is preparing a FCEV version of the ix35 for launch in 2013.

Here’s a video from Nissan’s press conference at the Paris Motor Show, including shots of the cars on display:

Among an array of models on display, the final production Juke NISMO appears alongside several special versions including the Juke with Ministry of Sound and Qashqai 360, as well as a revised version of the 370Z.
