Even though Golf 6 is old news now, what with the Mk7 around, more and more tuners are releasing packages for the car these days. British chip specialist Superchips announced a new ECU remap they’ve developed for the 1.6 TDi engine, which results in a very impressive gain of 41 bhp and 70 Nm of torque. That means the diesel Golf now gets 148 bhp and 307 Nm.
That huge lump of torque will make driving the Golf much more exciting and desirable. The car will pull better, over taking becomes more effortless, and the whole things feels sharper and more agile. The kit can fitted to both 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG variants of the March 2009 onwards 105 PS (103 bhp) Mk6 Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDi (including the Bluemotion model).
Superchips VW Golf 6 1.6 TDi kit is priced at £455.00 inclusive of installation and taxes.
