German tuner Manhart Racing released a new upgrade program for the BMW M3 Convertible E93. Actually, it is not new. What they’ve done here is put the internal organs of their MH3 V8 RS Clubsport into the body of a drop-top M3. The result is one of the most awesome convertibles in the world.

That Clubsport package comes with a twin-turbo kit for the 4.4 liter V8 engine. That’s right, it’s not the M3’s own 4.0 liter unit. Manart has snatched this V8 out of an X6M. It produces 655bhp and over 975 Nm of torque. Thanks to this colossal power you can do 320 km/h in this car. That’s going to do some serious damage to your hairdo.

You also shouldn’t be worried about the turbos killing all the good V8 noise. Manhart has used their own in-house designed stainless steel downpipes, as well as an Akrapovic Evolution Titanium exhaust system with a 200 cpsi sports catalytic converter system and four 90 mm tail pipes. So yes, it’s going to be fairly noisy.

The gearbox and MHR braking system with four-piston callipers are also from the X6M. For optimum traction the tuner has fitted the car with a differential lock as well.

Visually, the car gets a GTR bonnet with a big bulge in the middle, carbon flaps, mirror caps and rear diffuser.Inside the cabin you get a 400 km/h tachometer and Manhart’s own display system. The wheels are MHR Concave One Ultra-light forged, 9×20 front, 12×20 rear. A tweaked KW suspension system is also included.

BMW M3 Convertible by Manhart will be on display at the 2012 Essen Motor Show.
